It’s a process she needs to do

Sometimes being a parent can be very frustrating!!  Today we had yet another battle with our soon to be 19 year old daughter over the fact she needs to get her permit so she can get her driver’s license.  She seems to think that she needs a car first.  NO!  With living at home and depending on family for transportation to and from work we have been encouraging her for months to get her license so if something happen she could just use grandpas car to go to work, and save for a car.  I told her to check online for some auto insurance quotes to get some ideas of what it will run her for insurance so she can save enough money to get a car and pay for a full year of coverage up front.  She has not saved a penny, and here we are, going into December and still no permit!!  I am so at my wits end with this child!!!

10 Tips to Read Better

I came across this blog article about 10 Tips to read better.  I have to tell you many days I say to myself “today I am going to spend x amount of time reading” Then what happens?  Everything and anything goes wrong and by the end of the day, I brush my teeth crawl in bed, say my prayers and I lay there and think to myself… oh man I didn’t get my reading time in AGAIN….

Sometimes I think it is Satan throwing his monkey wrench into my day.  I need to learn to not say to myself “out loud” you today I am going to do this or say tomorrow I am going to do that, because something always seems to comes up!!

But I love to read!!  Do you?  How you win the battle of finding the time you want to read?

Prayer request–for rest/sleep

If you pop by my blog to visit, I would greatly appreciate if you could add a little prayer to your list for me for some rest/sleep! I am so exhausted.  I have a sweet friend who can manage on 4 or 5 hours of sleep and I don’t know she does it…

My sleeping is more like tossing and turning and sleep and wake up every half hour to an hour.  Of course some medication I was put on in October to prevent migraines seemed to help me sleep for a while but that magic has worn off!!  With being a caregiver, I need all the rest I can get!!

I’m Thankful for….

I thought today I would post what I am thankful for and hope that maybe as folks visit my blog would want to join along!!

I am thankful for:  Life, Love and for God bring us Jesus!!  I am thankful for my good friends and that I have another holiday to spend with my father.

Simply pleasures are life’s treasures and I treasure each and every moment I can get with my family!!!!

A Thank you from Billy Graham

Awe, I just had to come in and blog, remember I told you about having the opportunity to wish Billy Graham a happy 90th Birthday??  Well I received an email with a Thank You!  Wow how awesome was that!  I have to tell you it was a wonderful thing to have come to my email box.  It has been a rough few days here at home, and sometimes I get annoyed with those spam emails and how refreshing it was to receive a kind work.  I would of loved to have seen his face with so many messages left for him!!  A memory to last a lifetime!!

Do you feel secure in your home?

Do you feel secure in your home?  There are many nights that are sleepless for me, because I do not feel safe.  So many times I have seen the ADT home security commercials and say to my husband, I wish we had that for our home!  In today’s times like ours, where you have drug deals going on, and street gangs, and the occasional break into cars like this summer, I would sleep better if we had a security system.  Being that I am home taking care of my father and my son who attends school from home, with no car during the day, as my husband is at work, I really would feel so much more secure if we had an ADT home security system.  I would love to have that peace of mind of having 24 hour alarm monitoring service can bring.  Never worry to leave our home to travel over night or for a week.  Plus did you know that some homeowner insurance companies will give you a discount on the cost of your coverage if you had a home security system?  I think that is a great benefit as well, not only getting the piece of mind that ADT can bring to you, but saving a little money at the same time!  This Christmas, when my husband asks me, as I do each year, again I am asking for ADT!

What does “God” scare so many?

Why does “GOD” scare so many, or make them feel threatened?  Why are so many determined to continue to take GOD out of our “Airwaves”.

This morning my husband forward a petition to me via an email from work, hoping to get enough signatures to stop this other organization from taking “Christian” things off television, radio, etc.  Honestly how can they?   I just don’t see how they can.

Sometimes I see these I am “leary” to forward them because I wonder if someone is trying to harvest the email addresses, which is why I always uses BCC.

So many cry out “why” are we in the position we are in today with our economy and such, and you just want to stop and say to them to really STOP and think about that……the answer will come to you!!

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.  Just as we as Christians can’t stop the filth that is on television, or the words that are sung in songs, you as non believers can’t take the love, the faith and our strength away from us!  We have rights too.

I just had to get that off my chest this morning!!
