About SimplyMe
My name is Susan, but I blog as “SimplyMe”. I am a happily married mom from Ohio. I was blessed with two beautiful Children, well not so little anymore, my daughter is 19 and my son is 16. I am remarried and blessed again with a Stepson who is 21. I learned that being a step parent isn’t for wimps!
I am a homemaker, and have been for the past 10 years. With being a caregiver to my Father who is 67 with COPD, Emphysema and advanced stages of Rheumatoid Arthritis, and now battling issues with masses in his lungs, and my son attending school online from home, my days are very busy indeed. I have often thought about opening a caregiver blog, but my personal journal blog really fits that category well.
I am a Christian and was Baptized 12 years ago! It was awesome, at the time I was a single parent and the Lord really did take care of us. It was a moving experience for my children to see as well. Since remarrying and moving to where I live now, I had to leave my Church back home. I missed them dearly each and every day.
I wish we lived in an area where I could have a nice big size garden, as I love to do canning. Nothing better then home grown goodness to serve up for dinner. I love to wake up and be able to go and sit on my front or back porch on a porch swing and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the beauty of the sun rising and looking out into the beautiful work for which God created…..and how beautiful the image is in my mind.
I have been blogging for about four years now. I have a personal journal where I blog about the sweet and sticky moments of life, a scrap booking blog where I share my digital layouts. I enjoy blogging, I like to talk, I love to write, can be opinionated and fired up at times. So my blogs just feed that need. I think part of that is because I don’t get out much, most of my interaction with others that is not family is online! Except when I go over to visit my neighbor across the way, but during winter months we are inside more, so we don’t see each other as much!
Being a stay at home mom and us being a one car family, I spend most days behind the same four walls. One can only cook and clean so much!! So my blogs are my home away from home and if i need to escape to vent, or listen to music, or share a moment, a laugh or a tear I can!! Blogging has been a proven sanity saver. I have been very fortunate to meet a few wonderful folks online, but trust me I have met more not so nice people, those who pretend to be your friend to use you and then kick you aside when you no longer are an asset to them. But I value the friends I have to date and became friends with them each with their own unique way!
