The lifeless backyard

Ever since we took the swing set down out of our backyard, I haven’t gone back there to sit.  It just so empty and feels so lifeless back there.  This is my first summer in over eleven years that I have not taking care of little ones (babysitting) and its been quite interesting.  Although I know it is meant to be this way especially with my health and being a caregiver, dad is slowly getting worse.  Hubby and I took a walk the other night and he asked me what I wanted to do with the backyard.  He has been looking at pond aerators as he has been wanting to have a small pond or waterfall in the backyard for years.  My concern is if he doesn’t keep up with it.  We had one years ago and the water was all green and nasty.   He wants to put in a good size pond and border it with flowers, and I am all for it if he can follow through this time.  I worry about mosquitoes hanging around the yard though.  He doesn’t think we will have any problems with them.  I am not sure if this is something we can do this summer or not, being that it is almost over.  I know we are saving and hoping next year to get windows.  But its so funny watching him walk to the back of the house with his laptop in hand and looking out into the backyard.  Oh yeah he has something brewing in the head of his for sure!
