Was a nice trip back home today

Today for Mothers Day, my hubby drove me back to my hometown, which is an hour drive one way for us to have dinner at a small little Italian eatery.  It was a beautiful day with the sunshine, but on the cool side.  I enjoyed some quiet time in my thoughts with the Lord on the way thanking him for the beauty in the day.

I can not get over the changes back home.  My church, where I was married eleven years ago, they rebuilt, a new high school is being constructed, and a lot of the smaller businesses are gone.  I thought about it today and decided I want to take another day, just hubby and I and drive back home so I can take pictures of where I went to school, where I had my confirmation to “please my mother” when I told her I gave my heart to Jesus and she had a fit (my family didn’t go to church),  the park where the kids and I played when they were younger.  Grab those moments before any more changes take place.  Especially before they tear down the High School where I graduated!

When ever we travel to my hometown, deep inside a part of me feels homesick.  I miss my church family so much.  You have no idea how much I do!  Many nights I cry.  But my hometown also brings heartache memories and I know that the Lord move my children and myself where we needed to be.

But I am not happy here.  I hope one day we can move.
